Event Details Michele Gold, of the LA Museum of the Holocaust and Kindertransport Refugee Bea Green reflect on the story of the Kindertransport

Michele Gold, of the LA Museum of the Holocaust and author of Memories that Won’t Go Away: A Tribute to the Children of the Kindertransport’ reflects on the process of researching and writing on the Kindertransport as a daughter of one of the Kinder, Rita Berwald.

The book tenderly documents, through detailed accounts and photographs, the stories of the rescued children, which are presented as a compilation of stories and personal accounts interwoven with visual graphics by Holocaust Survivor and artist Gabriella Karin. Signed copies of the book will be available to buy after the event.

Bea Green arrived in Britain on the Kindertransport as a young girl in June 1939. Leaving her native Germany she remembers the brutal attack of her father in 1933 and his public humiliation in the streets of Munich. Forging a new life for herself in Britain, Bea is one of a number of Kindertranspot Refugees who regularly speaks at the Jewish Museum and other venues about her personal experiences to school groups. This is a rare opportunity for those not of school age to hear first-hand testimony.

This event is part of a series of events to coincide with Yom HaShoah.
