Event Details Focus: 70th Anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

Theme:‘Resistance and Rescue’

Guest speakers: the Polish Ambassador HE Mr Witold Sobkow;
Child ghetto survivors Mrs Janine Webber and Mrs Lili Stern-Pohlmann, both originally from Poland.

The two survivors will describe how they were smuggled out of the ghetto and lived on the Aryan side. Lili will also speak about her friend Irena Sendler, the rescuer of 2,500 children from the Warsaw Ghetto.

The programme will start with a moving candle lighting ceremony and short memorial service, followed by readings by teenagers, the formal addresses and a panel discussion.
